I was 10yrs old when I got my first SLR camera and the fire to take pictures was ignited. Working for local papers at the age of 12 shooting local events and processing and printing my own images.
I told the careers advisors at school I wanted to be a photographer, when they stopped laughing they directed me to BT or British Gas, I was not happy, luckily my Mum (bless her) sprang into action securing me an interview and subsequently a job for the Met Police Photographic Branch.
Starting as a Scene of Crime photographer (oh boy I have some stories). I moved on and managed to get the hang of photographing people in the vertical position spending 5yrs working for the Mets press and publicity office at NSY shooting everything from Royalty (yes I did meet Princess Di) to major recruitment campaigns for outside agencies and art directors.
I left the Police and struck out on my own and now the list of companies I have worked for is endless inc: Sainsbury's, BOC, Breaks, COI, Cabinet Office, Met Police (yep they had me back working independently for TMP), HSBC, GCE, Eurostar, London Underground, Sika to name a few.
I don't think photography is about the equipment (although all my equipment is up to date) Its about people (I really like people) and a comprehensive understanding of light.
As I have been doing this for quite a while I also see in images, my brain constantly re-frames my life in oblong boxes, significantly reducing set up time, reducing a 2 day shoot to perhaps half a day. I know what works, I listen well and understand what you need, working together to achieve the best possible imagery no matter how gnarly the location.
I recently had a quick shoot for a company to be used for an article about an individual, when submitted to the trade magazine, they moved the image from the inside pages to the front page. Images are important, and decent ones can be very worthwhile and save you money!
With the cost of library pictures and licensing I can shoot bespoke relevant images at a fraction of the price that includes an unlimited licence to use worldwide.....forever....Give me a try!
My prices start at £250/hr
all the best

Results, personality, expertise, value, timekeeping, integrity and creativity, as far as I am concerned, Simon ticks every box.
I have no hesitation in recommending Simon. Simon has the ability to make something monotonous appear awe inspiring. He is a very professional and highly personable creative. His photography and lighting skills are expert and innovative and the results from a photoshoot with Simon are always exactly to brief.
I always look forward to working with Simon and have done so on numerous occasions around the UK, capturing images of products supplied in Schools, Hospitals and other commercial buildings. Simon consistently delivers exceptional quality photographs that reflect our corporate image for use with brochures, web and print, whilst still making the day enjoyable
A great professional, and fun to work with! I have no hesitation in recommending Simon. He always produces a quality result. Quite often producing a 'silk purse, from a sow's ear'!!
I have used Simon for all kinds of jobs, from in-house newsletters to corporate events, since the early 2000s. He is highly personable with a real flair for getting the best shots of people, especially in corporate environments, and putting them at ease.
I do not hesitate to recommend Simon for any photographic assignment. He is particularly impressive when handling his human subjects, at ease and polite, and able to get the best out of them, whoever they are!
